The WSC Group has appointed BrightLoop Converters as the sole supplier of DC/DC converters for ETCR cars.

BrightLoop Converters was created in 2010 with the ambition of developing the highest performance power converters on the market, for the most demanding applications. Apart from custom-made products tailored to a customer’s specific requirements, a DC/DC converters product line is proposed, tailored to Motorsport and Hypercar applications. The converters are already used in the most demanding hybrid and electric racing series, offering great versatility and best-in-class power to weight ratio.

The WSC Group chose BrightLoop’s DCDC12L converter to fit out the ETCR cars. This device uses the high-voltage power from the main traction battery to power all the low-voltage electrical accessories, such as actuators, pumps, lighting, radio, etc., in a much more efficient and lightweight way than an alternator.

The DCDC12L converter’s technical characteristics include: isolated input voltage from 400V to 950V, output from 12 to 17.5V, continuous output power 1.4kW, weight 950g. To achieve the best thermal management, the converter is provided together with an integrated liquid-cooling plate.
